Now is the time

"Now is the time..."
~ Barack Obama (Sources: 1, 2, & 3)

"Running swiftly, balancing on the razor's edge, bald but with a lock of hair on his forehead, he wears no clothes; if you grasp him from the front, you might be able to hold him, but once he has moved on not even Jupiter [Zeus] himself can pull him back: this is a symbol of Kairos [Tempus, Opportunity], the brief moment in which things are possible." (Aesop, Fable 536) "Rove: After Four Bleak Obama Years, an Opportunity" (Source)

"Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children." (M. Luther King, Jr., "I have a Dream," Qtd. on NPR.)

Loren Coleman has cataloged a number of prominent examples of the "storm coming" leitmotif. See here. Here are a few more - all the way back to 1984.

"There's a Storm Coming."
~ Anton Heese (Morgan Stanley interest rate strategist, "referring to the market for Treasury Inflation Protected Securities, or TIPS"; Source)
"Myth Number 6: The 9/11 attacks came as a surprise to the Bush administration. Nothing is more essential to the official story than this idea. About 10 months after 9/11, for example, FBI Director Robert Mueller said: 'To this day we have found no one in the United States except the actual hijackers who knew of the plot.'... There is much evidence, however, that counts against this claim. The Put Options: One type of evidence involves an extraordinarily high volume of 'put options' purchased in the three days prior to 9/11. To buy put options for a particular company is to bet that its stock price will go down. These extraordinary purchases included two, and only two, airlines–United and American–the two airlines used in the attacks. They also included Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, which occupied 22 stories of the World Trade Center. The price of these shares did, of course, plummet after 9/11, resulting in enormous profits for the purchasers. These unusual purchases, as the San Francisco Chronicle said, raise 'suspicions that the investors . . . had advance knowledge of the strikes.'... It would appear, in other words, that those who made the purchases knew that United and American airliners were going to be used in attacks on the World Trade Center." ~ David Ray Griffin, "9/11: The Myth and the Reality," URL

"You think I'm crazy? Well, listen up, there's a storm coming like nothing you've ever seen, and not a one of you is prepared for it."
~ Curtis (Take Shelter [2011])

"It's changing out there. Just like last time. There's a storm coming, Harry.
And we all best be ready when she does."
~ Rubeus Hagrid (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix [2007])

~ Batman (Batman Begins [2005])

("Pan ... is the innermost moon of Saturn. It is a walnut-shaped small moon about 35 kilometres across and 23 km high that orbits within the Encke Gap in Saturn's A Ring. Pan acts as a ring shepherd and is responsible for keeping the Encke Gap free of ring particles." Source)

Additionally, some websites are rewarming the "solar storm" prediction that was hot during the recent spate of "Mayan Apocalypse" prognostications. See here. (Cf. Here.) But cooler heads often prevail. So don't pan-ic.

"USA-207, international COSPAR code 2009-047A, also known as PAN, officially meaning Palladium At Night, or P360, is a classified American communications satellite, which was launched in September 2009. The US government has not confirmed which of its intelligence agencies will operate the satellite." (Footnotes omitted, Source) For more on Pan, see here and here.

Mention of "Palladium" also fits into a pattern of "Periodic Table" references. E.g., see: silver, cadmium, and gold and aluminum

 (Source)

Palladium (mythology): "In Greek and Roman mythology, a palladium or palladion was an image of great antiquity on which the safety of a city was said to depend. 'Palladium' especially signified the wooden statue (xoanon) of Pallas Athena that Odysseus and Diomedes stole from the citadel of Troy and which was later taken to the future site of Rome by Aeneas. The Roman story is related in Virgil's Aeneid and other works." (Source; On Virgil's Aeneid, cf. here.) "[A]n object known as the Felix Gem..., cut on carnelian,...was considered to be the most valuable of all the carved gems in the collection of Pope Paul II (1464-71)...(The original purpose of such gems was to serve as seals on documents). The Felix Gem was made for Capurnius Severus, a member of the court of the emperor Tiberius (AD 14-37) by the gem cutter Felix. It bears a scene of the seizure of the Palladium - an image of the goddess Pallas Athena (or Minerva) - from the citadel at Troy. Ulysses remonstrates with his companion Diomedes for having murdered Athena's priestess. The reference is to Rome's earliest legendary history: without possession of the Palladium, the Greeks could never take Troy..." Michael J. Vickers, The Ancient Romans (London: Phaidon P., 1989), p. 6

"Steroid-related meningitis cases rise to 47"
By MIKE STOBBE | Associated Press

"Steroid-related meningitis cases rise to 47"
Liz Szabo, USA TODAY

(Et Alia; on the number 47, see here.)
(*)
"On Friday, officials said they have found fungal infections in nine sick patients. They weren't able to identify what types of fungus in every one of those patients, but did distinguish at least two types — Aspergillus and Exserohilum. ...Meningitis is an inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms include severe headache, nausea, dizziness and fever.Fungal meningitis is not contagious like the more common forms." (Source)

"Aspergillus fungus at center of outbreak[:] The fungus blamed for the outbreak, Aspergillus, is very common and found in leaf mold, says William Schaffner, an infectious disease expert at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville" (Source)

"Aspergillus" is given by Wiktionary as "From Latin aspergillum (holy water sprinkler), after their shape."

"Exserohilum" seems to mean something like: "bring forth" (sero) "out of" (ex) the "black layer" (hilum) or "to scatter from the black layer" etc. Another word that is alleged to have the "sero"-root is: "Saturn" (definition) "O.E. Sætern 'Italic god,' also 'most remote planet' (then known), from L. Saturnus, Italic god of agriculture, possibly from Etruscan. Derivation from L. serere (pp. satus) 'to sow' is said to be folk-etymology. Identified with Gk. Kronos, father of Zeus. Also the alchemical name for lead (late 14c.). In Akkadian, the planet was kaiamanu, lit. 'constant, enduring,' hence Heb. kiyyun, Arabic and Pers. kaiwan 'Saturn.'"

Both "aspergillus" and "exserohilum" are also words associated with maize/corn. (Cf. "Pathogens of Maize Seeds... 'Sensitivity of selected maize inbreds to three strains of barley yellow dwarf virus. ... An isolate of Exserohilum turcicum virulent on maize inbreds with ...'.")

"On the tip of each corn kernel is a hilum, collectively known as the “black layer,” where it is attached to the cob. While corn is growing, nutrients are being transferred from the rest of the cob to the kernels through the hilum." (Source)

The "black layer" reference may signal the beginning of an alchemical working: "Putrefaction of the Wise, the Raven’s head; Putrefactio, Nigredo, transponas [sic.]; Penetrating and light black,Here find the bodies in putrefaction, and becoming earth, and when you will see the blackness like this, then you know this blackness is the beginning of your work." (Source: Aurei Velleris [Golden Fleece], "Spiegel der Philosophen," [Mirror of the Philosophers], 1708)

Pretiosissimum Donum Dei ["The most precious gift of God"]: "Here be the bodies put in putrefaction and be made black earth, and when you seest thy matter to be made black rejoice for that is the beginning of the operation. And it is necessary to be putrefied."

"The Black Crow sometimes also the Raven is the beginning of the great work of soul alchemy. This indicates the initial stages of the alchemist's encounter with his inner space, through withdrawing from the outer world of the senses in meditation, and entering what is initially the dark inner world of the soul. Thus this stage is also described in alchemical texts as the blackening, the nigredo experience, and it is often pictured as a death process, as in the caput mortuum, the deaths head, or as some alchemical illustrations show, the alchemist dying within a flask. Thus in the symbol of the Black Crow we have the stepping out in consciousness from the world of the physical senses the restrictions that bind us to the physical body." (Source)

"The first fruits of the season were offered to the gods of farm and field: Demeter [Ceres] received the first corn, Dionysos the first grapes, and Athene the first olives. The Thesmophoria festival of Athens was one such festival celebrating the offering of the first fruits. Similar rites were practised throughout Greece. More information on these rituals can be found in the various regional entries below." (Source) See also Hoffman regarding "Cereal Sacrifice"/"Serial Murder", and here.

An ancient Cretan name for the mother-goddess was allegedly "Labyrinthos Potnia" [the "Lady of the Labyrinth"] (Source cf. Here)

"labyrinth (n.) ...    "...'labyrinth, maze,' figuratively "bewildering arguments," from L. labyrinthus, from Gk. labyrinthos 'maze, large building with intricate passages,' especially the structure built by Daedelus to hold the Minotaur near Knossos in Crete, from a pre-Greek language... ...Used in English for "maze" early 15c., and in figurative sense of "confusing state of affairs" (1540s)."

The Alchemical Labyrinth/Maze of Pan. The word "labyrinth" is: "perhaps related to Lydian labrys 'double-edged axe,' symbol of royal power, which fits with the theory that the labyrinth was originally the royal Minoan palace on Crete and meant 'palace of the double-axe.'" (Source)

According to some sources, a "labrys" is "A double-headed axe. So named because the double-headed blades symbolized the vaginal lips (the labia) spread open to reveal the clitoris and the passage into the cervix. The small orb adorning the top of the double-headed axe symbolized the clitoris."

"Iambe is also associated with, or sometimes another name for, Baubo, who also made Demeter laugh with her sacred guesture of ana-suromai: lifting the skirt to reveal the vulva." (Source)

"Pan is the son of Mercury [Hermes]; his head and body form the hieroglyph of the mercury of the philosohers..., at once solar and lunar" (Stanislas K. De Rola, Alchemy), in other words, androgynous.

Demeter and Pan: "When Demeter was wandering in search of her daughter, she was followed, it is said, by Poseidon, who lusted after her. So she turned, the story runs, into a mare, and grazed with the mares of Ogkios [in Arkadia]; realising that he was outwitted, Poseidon changed into a stallion and enjoyed Demeter ... Afterwards, they say, angry with Poseidon and grieved at the rape of Persephone, she put on black apparel and shut herself up in this cavern for a long time. But when the fruits of the earth were perishing, and the human race dying yet more through famine, no god, it seemed, knew where Demeter was hiding, until Pan, they say, visited Arkadia.. Roaming from mountain to mountain as he hunted, he came at last to Mount Elaios and spied Demeter, the state she was in and the clothes she wore. So Zeus learnt this from Pan, and sent the Moirai to Demeter, who listened to the Moirai and laid aside her wrath, moderating her grief as well." (Source: Pausanias, Guide to Greece 8.25.5 & 8.42.1)

The two serpents of Hermes are displayed with Pan/Baphomet. Demeter's chariot was pulled by the "Dracones" - two serpents.
"...the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan..." (Revelation 20:2, NIV; for more, see here.)

* Dennis Hauck has written that "An early cipher for Saturn was Rx, which medieval alchemists wrote on a slip of paper and prescribed as a cure" (The Complete Idiot's Guide to Alchemy, p. 125). Although, most other commentators on the prescription symbol claim for it a beginning that is more Jovian than Saturnine. (Cf.: http://www.endomail.com/articles/ad13rx.html where the author also links it to the "Eye of Horus".)
